When feeding the meter in Philadelphia, we highly recommend using our widely popular mobile payment app, meterUP. But we get it—some of you may prefer paying directly at the meter or, in this case, parking kiosks.
Just in case it’s been a while since you had to make an on-street parking payment, we want to ensure you’re on the up and up with our pay-by-plate parking kiosks. Check out the brief run-down below, and feel free to contact us with any issues or questions.

How are the pay-by-plate kiosks different from the old kiosks and coin-operated meters?

The Parking Enforcement Officer will scan your license plate number with their handheld ticketing device to verify your payment.
NOTE: You must ensure your license plate number is correctly entered into the kiosk.
How do I get a receipt?
Obtaining a receipt will be optional. You can print one or have one sent via text message. Receipts can also be obtained online at the link provided below.
What happens if I get a ticket when I pay for parking?
If you would like to dispute a parking ticket that you believe was issued in error, please follow the instructions located on our website athttp://www.philapark.org/violations/.
Do I still have to pay if there is no kiosk in front of my parking space?
Yes, each block regulated by metered parking will have a kiosk centralized in the middle of the block. Parking regulation signs will also indicate that you must pay at the kiosk.
