Philadelphia Parking Authority Transportation Center
The Philadelphia Parking Authority, joined by Mayor Cherelle Parker and city officials, recently celebrated the ribbon-cutting of the “New” Transportation Center at 1001 Filbert Street. Situated at the site of the former Greyhound Bus Terminal, this revitalized hub was completed through a collaborative effort between various city departments and PennDOT to meet a May 1st deadline. Mayor Parker highlighted the opening as a vital step in her vision for the revival of Market East, ensuring the city is prepared to welcome visitors for 2026 and beyond with a safe, clean, and professional gateway.
Operating 24/7, the facility features 44,000 square feet of renovated, ADA-accessible bus bays and a modern 13,000-square-foot interior. Travelers can enjoy updated amenities, including seating for 189 passengers, contemporary restrooms with baby changing stations, and a private lactation pod. To ensure a hospitable and secure experience for the thousands of daily riders, the center is fully staffed around the clock and equipped with comprehensive security surveillance systems, both interior and exterior.
